Earlier this month Hull Warriors Masters held a charity fundraiser event for Dove House Hospice which is based in Hull. SPEC Director Ian Needham was at the event as he plays for Hull Warriors Masters. After hearing about the tremendous work they do, Ian pledged a donation to support the Hull based hospice. They provide care for adults across the city and the East Riding of Yorkshire who have illnesses which are no longer curable. Their mission is to improve the quality of life of their patients by offering specialist care which is holistic an individually tailored to their needs. From specialist medical care to complementary therapy, rehabilitation to social care, the hospice’s team works together to give patients everything they need to live well for as long as possible.

The cost of providing this specialist care to the community is £7.5 million annually, with the equivalent of only 37 days running costs covered by central funding. Without the support and generosity of individuals, community groups and businesses such as Spec Ltd, we would no longer be able to provide our services, free of charge, to so many.
